Krossvik
As you pass Eigerøy Bridge heading out Norda Sundet by boat, Krossnes and Krossvik appear on the port side.

There are various theories about names containing ‘kross’ (cross). Some argue that crosses were placed along the coast as navigation markers. Others believe they indicated important harbors or were built as symbols of the Christianization of Norway. ‘Havnekors’ (harbor cross) is a well-known term. For example, the harbor cross on Kvitsøy is on Krossøynå. Therefore, it is tempting to believe that there may have been a cross at Krossneset in the approach to Eikundasund.
