Dalane Folk Museum

Dalane Folk Museum is the regional museum for Dalane, an area that includes the municipalities of Eigersund, Sokndal, Lund and Bjerkreim. The museum has rich and extensive collections, with facilities spread throughout Dalane. The main facility is located on Slettebø near Egersund. In the center of Egersund is the Egersund Fayance Museum.

Mid-June to mid-August; every day 11:00-17:00

Egersund Fayance (Pottery) Museum

Egersund Fayancemuseum exhibits a selection of items from the factory’s long history. The exhibits also show how the pottery factory was a cornerstone of Egersund town. Egersund Fayancemuseum has implemented universal design in all aspects with regard to access and presentation. Here one finds a special touch gallery adapted for the blind and visually impaired where all visitors have the opportunity to touch and feel objects.

The museum also has a shop at the reception. Egersund Fayancemuseum is a department of Dalane Folkemuseum.

September to mid-June; Wednesday-Friday 11:00-15:00, Saturday-Sunday 11:00-17: 00

Egersund Cinema and Cultural Center

Egersund Cinema and Cultural Center is located in Sandakergaten and houses the town’s theater and concert venues and cinema. 

The town’s cinema has two movie theaters, its own kiosk sales and is centrally located in the townscape. In addition to screening of films, the premises can be rented for lectures and seminars.

Library

Eigersund Public Library offers visitors a rich and exciting collection centrally located in Egersund. The library has many good offers and can also borrow from other libraries. The main library has wifi as well as more public computer work stations with access to the internet. The use is free. It is possible to reserve time in advance. Welcome! You can find your own reading nook in the library if you pay us a visit!
