At Rossland, there is an ancient heathen temple. The altar still stands here. The Rossland god, along with the sacrificial bowls, is displayed at the Jøssingfjord Science Museum, but exact replicas are placed at Rossland. ‘Ross’ means horse, and the entire area is referred to as a mythical landscape. The site is likely associated with a fertility cult. Take the turnoff from County Road 44, follow the roadsigns to the designated parking area at the top. Read more about the Rossland god here.
